At the 2026 I Am Your Neighbor charity art auction organized by Refugee Support Services (RSS) in Charlotte, my hand-painted vase Malva sold for $575, contributing to programs supporting refugee and immigrant communities.
Ukrainian Art on the Auction Block
The donated vase was an original piece of functional art, hand-painted with Ukrainian-inspired decorative motifs.
Unlike a painting displayed on a wall, a decorative vase brings artwork into everyday spaces - combining traditional ornamentation with a contemporary object.
A $575 Contribution
The auction brought together art and charitable giving, with proceeds supporting the work of Refugee Support Services.
For this particular piece, the result was clear: a $575 winning bid, a new owner for the vase, and a contribution to an organization helping newcomers in the Charlotte community.
